DENNIS PADILLA ISSUE – Here’s a timeline of the dispute between the actor and his three children with Marjorie Barretto.
What was supposed to be a happy wedding day for Claudia Barretto and her longtime non-showbiz boyfriend, Basti Lorenzo, now her husband, turned into a big controversy. The issue was ignited after Dennis Padilla aired how hurt he was for not being given a part in the program of his daughter’s wedding.
Padilla’s intriguing post stated, “GRABE KAYO!! NABUDOL NYO AKO! FATHER OF THE BRIDE NAGING VISITOR. GALING NYO!”
However, this is just one of the many issues Padilla and his children with Marjorie Barretto have encountered. In the past years, they have had several disputes made public, and here’s a timeline:
- In December 2014, Padilla made it public when his firstborn, Julia, “snubbed” him at Dreamscape’s Christmas party. Reportedly, this stemmed from his disapproval of their petition to change their surname from Baldivia to Barretto. According to the mother, Julia was just scared of him because he had thrown their children hurtful words because of the petition.
- In February 2015, Julia and Dennis reconciled after he was invited to her 18th birthday party. They have agreed to leave the past behind, and during this time, the petition to change the surname was withdrawn.
- In September 2015, Padilla publicly aired that the petition to change the surname was not formally withdrawn, which prompted him to file a motion to intervene.
- In June 2022, Padilla expressed his disappointment after Julia, Claudia, and Leon did not greet him on Father’s Day. A few days later, his youngest, Leon, responded with an open letter through Instagram – a channel he believed was the best option at that time, as he always tends to do with them. Leon pleaded with him to stop publicly shaming them.
“Can you please stop resorting to public shaming when things don’t go your way?” he told his father.
