Cops Arrest Woman w/ 80 Cases of Qualified Theft in Pampanga

A 28-year-old woman facing 80 counts of qualified theft was finally caught by authorities after a manhunt operation led them to Angeles City, Pampanga.

Theft is when someone takes something that doesn’t belong to them without permission, and with the intention of keeping it or using it as their own. It’s a form of stealing and is against the law.

Theft becomes more serious depending on what was taken, how it was taken, and who it was taken from.

On April 5, 2025, officers from the Manggahan Police Sub-Station 8 in Pasig carried out the operation in Purok 2, Little Baguio, Sapang Bato. There, they arrested the suspect, known by the alias “Berna,” who had been hiding away from the city.

Berna, a resident of Barangay Rosario in Pasig City, was identified as the 6th most wanted person under the Metro East District. She had a standing warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 152, presided over by Judge Katherine Au Go.

The case involves 80 counts of qualified theft, a serious charge involving stealing from someone who trusts you, like an employer or a business partner. The total bail set for her cases is over two million pesos, specifically P2,202,000.

After the arrest, Berna was brought back to Pasig, where she is now in police custody. Authorities are currently waiting for the court to release a commitment order so she can be transferred to the proper detention facility.

The arrest was a result of ongoing efforts to track down individuals with outstanding warrants, especially those involved in multiple cases. Police reminded the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activities in their communities, as teamwork between citizens and law enforcers plays a big part in keeping the community safe.
