On April 1, RR took to Instagram to offer her balanced view on the controversial event. In her post, she initially expressed sympathy for the SUV driver, acknowledging that at first, it appeared he was being overwhelmed by the motorcyclists. She wrote, “I saw the video… at first, maawa ka kay kuya dahil mukhang napagtulungan na siya. Maaaring tama siya at nadala siya ng emosyon niya. Hindi natin hawak ang emosyon ng isang tao, kung paano siya magre-react sa ganitong sitwasyon.”
Despite understanding the driver’s emotional response, RR emphasized the importance of taking responsibility for one’s actions. She expressed sorrow over how gun violence often becomes the tragic response in such situations. “Nakakalungkot na madalas ang solusyon sa ganitong sitwasyon (lalo na sa mga may baril) ay mamaril na lang,” she remarked.
RR firmly called out the SUV driver’s reckless behavior, stating that he should face consequences to set an example that violence is never the solution. “Para sa akin, kailangan niyang pagbayaran ang ginawa niya upang magsilbing aral na hindi kailangan lahat ay idaan sa pamamaril. Mali na napagtulungan ka pero palagi niyo tatandaan na may batas naman para diyan,” she stated.
At the same time, RR addressed the actions of the motorcyclists, criticizing their behavior for potentially provoking the shooting. “Para naman kila kuya na naka-motorsiklo na pinagtulungan si kuya kaya pinagbabaril sila, sana magsilbing aral din ito sa inyo na maaari rin kayo makatagpo ng katulad ni kuya na babarilin na lang kayo dahil sa kayabangan niyo.” she warned.
