Imee Marcos To Campaign w/ Local Candidates after Leaving BBM-led ‘Alyansa’

Sen. Imee Marcos Speaks on Continuing Campaign despite Official Withdrawal from Alyansa

IMEE MARCOS – The Senator claimed she will just join her local election candidate friends in their campaign after she left the ‘Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago’ led by President Bongbong Marcos.

In the upcoming May 2025 Election, several big political parties in the Philippines have merged forces and created a grand alliance, the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago. It is led by Pres. Bongbong Marcos who really join the campaign sorties of the alliance.

The grand alliance is composed of Marcos’ political party, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP); the Lakas-CMD; the National Unity Party (NUP); the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC); and the Nacionalista Party. Undeniably, this is one of the rarest time in the Philippine elections when several political parties combine forces.

The Alyansa has held several campaign sorties already. Marcos called the senatorial slate of the alliance as a “dream team”. However, recently, the alliance is on headlines following the decision of Sen. Imee Marcos to leave the team.

Sen. Imee Marcos decided to leave the Alyansa citing that the recent actions of the administration do not align with her ideals and principles in life. Prior to it, the Senator skipped the campaign sorties of the alliance following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Sen. Marcos skipped the Alyansa campaign rally in Tacloban as well as the campaign sortie of the team in Cavite. However, at the rally in the huge province of Cavite, Pres. Marcos did not mention his sister. It is unclear if it is intentional or not but he was able to mention Camille Villar who was also absent at the event.

After leaving the Alyansa, Sen. Imee Marcos assured that she will continue to campaign for her reelection. Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, the Senator is set to join the local candidates in their campaign sorties.

“Pupunta lang ako sa mga kaibigan ko sa local. Tutal maguumpisa na rin local sa 28. As usual sa mga local. Matagal akong governor. Sanay ako sa local. Marami naman akong kilala. Matagal naman ako sa Congress. Punta lang ako sa barkada ko,” Sen. Marcos said.

Malacañang has yet to react to the decision of the Senator to leave the Alyansa. Sen. Imee Marcos also seemingly took swipe at Pres. Bongbong Marcos for not mentioning her at the campaign sortie of the alliance.
