Holdup Suspect in Cebu Apologizes to Taxi Driver Before Robbing Him

HOLDUP INCIDENT – A holdup suspect in Talisay, Cebu apologized to a taxi driver before robbing him. 

A taxi driver in Talisay, Cebu, had a horrifying encounter when a passenger turned out to be a robber. The incident was caught on the taxi’s dashcam. 

The suspect, wearing a cap, face mask, and gloves, got in and acted like he was busy on his phone. But moments later, he reached behind him and pulled out a gun. Right after pulling the gun, he announced the holdup but  apologized to the driver while demanding money.

After grabbing around P1,500 pesos, he quickly got out and ran off. The driver, still in shock, couldn’t bring himself to continue working that day. He later shared how terrified he was, saying that having a gun pointed at him was beyond frightening. 

The victim’s first thought was his kids, he knew he had so much to lose if things had gone even slightly wrong. More than just losing money, the experience left him in fear, 

Now, authorities are on the hunt for the suspect, reviewing the dashcam footage to track him down. The incident shows the risks taxi drivers face every day, never knowing if a passenger is actually dangerous. 

According to the law, using a gun to intimidate someone during a robbery can land a person in prison for 12 to 20 years. If the weapon is fired, even without injuring anyone, the punishment gets even tougher. In extreme cases where someone gets hurt or killed, it could even mean life in prison. 

Investigations are still ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
