ANGEL LOCSIN – Netizens are once again debating Angel Locsin’s recent statements after Rommel Padilla shared a viral post questioning the actress’s silence on other national issues.
Rommel Padilla has drawn attention online after sharing a social media post criticizing actress Angel Locsin following her recent remarks directed at his brother, Senator Robin Padilla.
The discussion erupted after Angel briefly returned from her social media hiatus in the early hours of July 16. She reacted to a Manila Bulletin report regarding Senator Robin Padilla’s statement referring to her as a “communist” during his questioning of Atty. Jeremy Lotoc, who appeared as a witness in the impeachment trial on July 14.
In her post, Angel directly questioned the senator about his silence during the period when she claimed she was being subjected to red-tagging despite knowing that the accusations against her were false.
“Ang tanong ko lang, nasaan ka nung panahong nirered-tag ako kahit alam mong hindi totoo? Actually, kasama mo pa nga at kachikahan yung mga nangre-red-tag,” the actress said.
She also expressed disappointment, saying that the Robin Padilla she once knew was no longer the same person she sees today. Angel then urged the senator to reflect on his actions.
“Tama na, Kuya. Gising na. Hindi pa huli ang lahat,” said Angel.
Her statements quickly circulated across social media, drawing mixed reactions from netizens. While many supported her decision to speak out about her experience with red-tagging, others questioned why she had not been as vocal about other national issues.
One netizen claimed that Angel remained silent on matters such as recent flooding, alleged theft, and the controversial flood control issue while choosing to criticize Robin Padilla publicly.

Rommel Padilla, the veteran actor, brother of Senator Robin Padilla, and father of actor Daniel Padilla, later shared the netizen’s post on his own social media account.
Rather than adding a lengthy statement, Rommel captioned the shared post with:
