In an Instagram story, actress Ellen Adarna shares this conversation she had with her son Elias about money and keeping his bank account.

In real life, money matters. It does a lot of things that having no money couldn’t have, but what matters on top of wanting it is to have control of it. Let money have no control over you, but a practical fact remains that it is important.

It helps people meet their needs, achieve goals, and provide a better quality of life. Recently, actress Ellen Adarna, had this conversation about money with her son Elias, and the post brought laughter to a lot of people.

Elias is her son with actor John Lloyd Cruz, and the conversation stemmed from one incident that happened at a mall.

At the mall, Elias and his companion were left in a helpless situation because of money. His adult companion did not carry cash with her, but a situation occurred in which cash payment was demanded.

They did everything and asked around to give them money in exchange for cashless payment. They were just desperate to pay for parking, and the desperation sparked a realization in the child’s young mind.

As soon as they went home, Elias asked his mother if he had a bank account, and she answered “yes”. She told him that she was saving for his schooling and future, and when she asked him why the question, he shared what happened to them about having not a penny to pay for the parking.

He followed up, “How much money do I have in my bank account?”

She answered him that he has enough to survive and live a simple life. She was also affirmative when he asked if it would be enough to buy a house and a car. He added, “You work so I can go to Kidzoona and eat good food and pay for parking, okay?”

In response, she gave him a positive answer and quipped that he should enjoy his childhood because when he grows up, he would have to work to pay for his parking. The little boy said, “I don’t want to grow up!” and her response was, “Same bab, same.”
