The court released this decision regarding cases filed against Neri Miranda
The Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) dismissed all the cases filed against celebrity entrepreneur Neri Miranda.
Late last year, Neri was faced with a controversy. She was arrested while attending an event. Allegedly, she violated the Securities Regulation Code and committed syndicated estafa. These allegations against her are rooted in her connection to beauty clinic Dermacare.
She was an endorser of the said company and she was accused of getting involved in the investment issue. For a while, the wife of Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda was detained at the Pasay City Jail Female Dormitory.

In December last year, a released order was issued by the court and Neri Miranda reunited with her family for the holidays.
On March 4, FLO Attorneys, handling Neri’s case, released a statement about the dismissal of the cases filed against the “Wais na Misis.” The decision was released on February 12 and the law firm just got a copy of this yesterday.
The court explained that the reason for the dismissal was the “insufficiency of the criminal complaint.”
“Glaringly, the private complainants never alleged being defrauded by [Miranda]….More mind-boggling is that private complainants never asserted having personally transacted with or handed over money to [Miranda]….Therefore, the evidence presented indeed fails to establish that [Miranda] committed the crime of Estafa, moreso, Syndicated Estafa,” Acting Presiding Judge Ronald August L. Tan said in the order.

Order dated January 20, 2025, Acting Presiding Judge Gina M. Bibat-Palamos of RTC Pasay City Branch 111 dismissed the violation of the Securities Regulation Code (Republic Act No. 8799) complaint filed against Neri.
Her lawyer, Atty. Aureli Sinsuat of FLO Attorneys-at-Law, expressed gratitude to the court for clearing the name of the celebrity. The lawyer stressed that Neri was falsely accused of the wrongdoings in the beauty clinic.
Neri’s camp is also hoping that after the court’s decision was released, the issue will be put to rest so that the court can focus on dealing with the perpetrators of Dermacare scam.
