On 2025 Elections, VP Sara Duterte Advises Voters To Check on Platforms
VP Sara Duterte told the voters to not vote based on the last name of the candidates but on their accomplishments and plans for the Philippines.
This May 12, 2025, the Filipinos are set to once again exercise their right to suffrage or the right to vote. There are both local and national elections. One of the candidates for senator in the 2025 Elections is Pastor Apollo Quiboloy while Doc Willie Ong has withdrawn his senatorial candidacy.

Senators Bong Go and Bato dela Rosa are also running for re-election in the upcoming 2025 polls. They are among the senatorial bets of the PDP-Laban, the political party of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
VP Sara Duterte also previously endorsed the PDP-Laban’s senatorial bets. Recently, the Vice President expressed an advice to the voters in choosing for the candidates to vote in the upcoming 2025 Elections.

Based on a report on GMA News, VP Sara Duterte advised the voters to hear the promises of the candidates in the 2025 Elections and check on their accomplishments. She also advised the voters to check on the capacity of the candidates and not vote based on surname.

“Huwag natin iboto dahil apelyido ay Duterte, anak ni Digong. Tingnan natin kung ano ang nagawa at pinakaimportante sa lahat kung ano ang kaniyang mga pangako na pinanindigan niya, ano ang kaniyang mga gagawin para sa bansa,” the Vice President said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Duterte expressed her belief that the people has the power to change the current state of the country through voting for individuals who are worthy to be in the position, honest, and diligent in serving the country.
“Kasama ninyo kaming nagdarasal para sa tagumpay ng ating mga adbokasiya, alang-alang sa kapakanan ng ating mga komunidad at kapwa Pilipino,” Duterte said.
Previously, a complaint was filed against former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte due to his “kill” remark at the rally endorsing the PDP-Laban senatorial candidates. He raised the elimination of 15 senators so their posts will be vacant and their bets can fill those Senate seats. Here are the senatorial bets of the PDP-Laban:
- Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa
- Senator Christopher “Bong” Go
- Pastor Apollo Quiboloy
- SAGIP party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta
- ex-presidential adviser for Northern Luzon Raul Lambino
- actor Philip Salvador
- former executive secretary Vic Rodriguez
- musician and lawyer Jimmy Bondoc
- former Interior Undersecretary Jayvee Hinlo
