Lady Customer Expresses Dismay After Losing Receipt at a Mall in Bacolod City
A lady customer expressed her frustration towards a mall in Bacolod City due to its strict and repetitive receipt-checking process.
Recently, Hannah Apelo Sanchez, a Facebook user, shared her frustrating experience at a popular mall in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
Sanchez visited Gaisano City Mall to buy a vest for a school event. As she moved through the mall, she encountered multiple security checks. First, a guard at the second-floor escalator inspected her receipt.

Another security personnel checked it again at the first-floor exit. Thinking she was done, she proceeded to buy fries from the supermarket’s food court area. However, at some point, she lost her receipt without realizing it.
When she attempted to exit through the department store, a security guard stopped her, requesting to see her receipt once again. Since she had misplaced it, she tried to show an ATM transaction slip as proof of purchase.
The guard refused to let her leave without the original receipt. Feeling helpless, she asked for assistance, but instead of being helped, she was put on hold while the security team coordinated through their radios to prevent her from exiting.

The experience left her feeling harassed, as she was treated like a suspect rather than a customer. Frustrated and overwhelmed, she went to the customer service counter, where she broke down in tears due to anxiety.
Fortunately, the staff assisted her and helped her calm down. She hopes the mall management will review their policy. While security is important, she believes checking receipts at every exit is excessive and stressful for customers.
The lady customer urges people to be kind to one another, as no one knows what struggles others may be facing.
