PAGASA Says Easterlies and Amihan to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies and the northeast monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Monday (February 3, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and the easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that the Northeast Monsoon will affect Northern Luzon while the easterlies will prevail in the rest of the country.

“Light rain or drizzles may be experienced in the eastern sections of Northern Luzon,” Torres said

Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao. The easterlies will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Mindanao.

In the coming days, the northeast monsoon will continue to affect parts of Luzon,” Torres said.

The monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains overthe  Ilocos Region. The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

“For the rest of the country, the weather will be fair, except for the possibility of brief or sudden rain showers,” she added.

The remaining parts of the country will have generally fair weather with chances of sudden downpours.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Mindanao will be moderate to rough. Slight to moderate waters are expected over the remaining parts of the country, according to PAGASA.

No low-pressure area or any tropical depression is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next few days.
