Who Showed Up at Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza’s Private Dinner W/ Senators
MARCOS – Step inside the exclusive dinner hosted by President Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza, where senators gathered for an evening of camaraderie—find out who made the guest list and who was notably absent.
On Monday, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Marcos hosted an exclusive dinner for several senators and their spouses at the Bahay ng Pangulo, the official residence within the Malacañang complex. The event coincided with the Iglesia ni Cristo’s (INC) “National Rally for Peace” at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila, which police estimated attracted over a million attendees.
The First Lady shared a photo of the dinner on Facebook, showcasing the presence of most senators. Among those in attendance were Senate President Francis Escudero and his wife, actress Heart Evangelista, as well as Senators Ramon Revilla Jr., Lito Lapid, Francis Tolentino, Sherwin Gatchalian, Raffy Tulfo, Joel Villanueva, Mark Villar, Jinggoy Estrada, JV Ejercito, Cynthia Villar, Pia Cayetano, Alan Peter Cayetano, Aquilino Pimentel III, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Loren Legarda, Nancy Binay, and Robin Padilla..

Senator Grace Poe was also reportedly present but arrived too late to join the group photo. Absent from the gathering were Senator Imee Marcos, the President’s sister, as well as Senators Risa Hontiveros, Ronald dela Rosa, and Bong Go. Senator Marcos’ office clarified that no invitation had been received, while Hontiveros stated she would have declined even if invited.
Malacañang has yet to provide specific details about the dinner or confirm whether all senators were invited. Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, in an interview at the Department of Budget and Management, said he did not attend, describing the event as “a very social and private affair.”

According to the report, the INC rally, held on the same day, expressed support for President Marcos’ opposition to impeachment efforts against Vice President Sara Duterte. Although the rally carried political implications, senators in attendance insisted that the dinner was strictly social, with no political discussions taking place.
The coinciding of the dinner with the INC’s large-scale gathering has sparked some speculation. However, participants stressed that the evening’s purpose was to promote camaraderie and build stronger relationships among the country’s leaders, rather than addressing political matters.
