OFW Father Bursts Into Tears After Not Being Recognized by His Ch
An OFW father break down in tears after not being recognized by his daughter after years of being away from each other.
Morris Montiel, a father and overseas Filipino worker (OFW), was left heartbroken when his young child didn’t recognize him upon his return after seven long years of working in Saudi Arabia.
The OFW’s plea for his child to come with him left everyone in tears as he struggled to connect with the child he hadn’t been able to care for during his time abroad.
For seven years, Morris worked as a merchandiser in Saudi Arabia, sacrificing his time with his family in hopes of securing a better future for them. During that period, his child, just three years old, had little opportunity to build a bond with him.
The father had only a few chances to make video calls, and the couple had separated, meaning Morris hadn’t been able to see his child since birth.
When Morris finally returned home, he eagerly looked forward to reuniting with his child. But the moment was far from what he expected. His child didn’t run to greet him or even recognize him, making Morris feel the heavy weight of the years apart.
Montiel’s daughter pushed him away and resisted his attempts to embrace. Despite his child’s actions, Morris held on tightly, determined to show love, even though it was incredibly painful for him.
The touching moment earns sympathy from those who understood the sacrifices OFWs make for their families.
Social media users commented about the challenges OFWs face when reuniting with their families after years of separation, while others expressed support for Morris, acknowledging the pain of both parents and children involved in such situations.
Although the child might still be adjusting, Morris is determined to rebuild the relationship and is not giving up on being there for his child, no matter how long it takes.
