PAGASA Says Shear Line and Amihan to Bring Rains Over Luzon and Visayas
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that shear line and amihan will prevail over Luzon and Visayas.
On Wednesday (January 8, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line and the northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that the shear line and the Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, and the Visayas.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Quezon.
Amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon.

The northeast monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of CALABARZON.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
A gale warning was raised in the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon, according to PAGASA.
