MMFF 2024 MOVIES – The showing of the official entries of this year’s film festival is extended until this date.
This year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has 10 official entries as part of the big event. The showing of the films started on December 25, 2024, and topping the list in terms of earnings is Vice Ganda‘s “And The Breadwinner Is”.
The MMFF 2024 Gabi Ng Parangal winners have already been announced and among those who bagged the top acting awards are Dennis Trillo, the Best Actor, Ruru Madrid, the Best Supporting Actor, Judy Ann Santos, the Best Actress, and Kakki Teodoro, the Best Supporting Actress.
The theatrical run is supposed to be until January 7, 2025, only but due to “calls for an extension by numerous movie enthusiasts and the general public”, it has been extended until January 14, 2025.
The MMFF expressed how overwhelmed they were by the support of the public. Along with the decision to put an extension in place, they also hope that the earnings will continue to increase.
The proceeds of the film festival will go to its beneficiaries such as the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund), the Film Academy of the Philippines, the Motion Picture Anti-Film Piracy Council, the Optical Media Board, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
