Generous Teacher Earns Praise for Saving Money to Give His Advisory Class a Memorable Christmas Party
A kind-hearted teacher saved for “Ipon Challenge” to give his advisory class a Christmas party, despite the challenges of life.
Recently, Mr. Jerwin Jose, also known as “Maestro Ejay,” took on the yearly “ipón challenge” to provide his Grade 7-Camia advisory class at General Tomas Mascardo National High School in Imus, Cavite with a memorable Christmas party.
The 29-year-old Filipino subject teacher shared that his students inspire him, and he promised to give back what he once dreamed of having when he was a student. He always wanted to make his students happy and this motivated him to start saving.
Mr. Jose began saving in December of the previous year, using a small piggy bank. Every P20 bill and spare change went into his savings for the Christmas party. Mr. Ejay also planned the event carefully with the help of the students’ parents.
Ejay thought about the party theme, activities, and games, despite the difficulty and effort involved in saving and organizing.
On December 19, 2024, his long-awaited Christmas party for his students came true. The celebration was filled with fun, surprises, and emotional moments. One of the most memorable activities was where students exchanged strings symbolizing gratitude, asking for forgiveness, and expressing their feelings for their classmates.
Although organizing the party wasn’t easy, Mr. Ejay stayed positive and focused on the happiness of his students. He remembered the negative comments from others but chose to keep going because he believed his efforts would have a lasting impact.
Sir Jerwin hopes to continue being a teacher until he retires. His mission is to teach not just lessons, but also valuable life lessons that his students will carry with them forever.

May salu-salo, may regalo, at syempre, may ampao!
Thank You, Lord, for blessing me with the strength and guidance para ma-achieve ito.
