Mariz Umali was asked the Maris Racal Issue
Kapuso news achor and reporter Mariz Umali shared her thoughts on the Maris Racal issue.
Maris has been a trending topic on social media for several days and this was because of her controversial affair with her loveteam partner Anthony Jennings.
When Maris broke her silence on the issue, she stressed that what she knew was that Anthony was already single because he had broken up with his non-showbiz girlfriend Jam Villanueva.

However, based on the screenshots that Jam revealed online, Anthony was having an affair with Maris while they were still together. Due to this Maris and Anthony were based online.
The actor expressed his apology to both Jam and Maris in his short statement that was less than half a minute. Amid this issue, one name already became a trending topic on social media and it was Mariz Umali.
Since the actress and the reporter’s names are pronounced the same, netizens shared memes about this. Some even included reporter Anthony Taberna and created memes featuring him and Mariz.
In a recent interview, the Kapuso news anchor and reporter was asked about the Maris Racal issue. Mariz said that she did not expect that she would be a trending topic as well.

Even though she knows Pinoys are funny and fond of finding humor in different situations, Maris said that there is sensitivity also.
“Di ko akalaing mag-te-trend ako alongside Maris. Pero seriously I hope we can also give them a break. Masakit pinagdaraanan nila and though Filipinos love humor, naniniwala ako na Filipinos also are sensitive enough to give them peace,” Mariz said.
The reporter also shared her wish for the actress as she knows that no one would ever want to be in this kind of situation. “Kaugnay sa nangyaring kontrobersya, ipagdasal na lang natin sila. Walang may gusto na malagay sa ganung kontrobersya, sakit at kahihiyan kaya let’s pray for their peace of mind and the ability to rise from this painful situation,” Mariz Umali said about the issue.
Meanwhile, amid the criticism, Maris Racal received support from fans and brands that still believe in her like Vicki Belo’s Belo Medical Group and beauty brand SnailWhite.
