Following Authentication Request to PSA, House Official Reveal Data Findings
HOUSE OFFICIAL – Representative Joel Chua said more than 400 recipients of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) Confidential Funds have no records with the Philippine Statistics Authority.
There are issues surrounding the spending of the Confidential Funds of the OVP and the DepEd during Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s term. The House of Representatives have conducted several hearings over the matter.
However, the times when Vice Pres. Duterte appeared at the hearing can be counted while there were more times when Duterte skipped the House hearings. Previously, the Vice President claimed that she will not anymore attend a hearing as she already did before and she was not asked.
Then, the lawmakers did not ask the Vice President after VP Sara Duterte refused to take an oath. Recently, the House panel had the names in the acknowledgment receipts (ARs) submitted by Duterte’s office checked with the PSA.
The PSA official who made the request to PSA to have 677 names authenticated was House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability chairman Joel Chua. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, speaking to TeleRadyo Serbisyo, Chua said that more than 400 names in the ARs submitted by the OVP have no birth records with the PSA.
Based on the report, there were also several names that have duplicate records with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). According to the House Official, the findings on the checking of the names submitted was released yesterday.
“Kahapon lumabas na rin ‘yung findings ng PSA pagdating sa 677 na isinumite naming pangalan. Out of 677 na isinumite namin, more than 400 ang lumalabas na walang lumalabas na birth record. More than 200 naman ang lumalabas na maraming kapangalan,” the House official said.
Based on the report, the investigation on the authenticity of the records of the Confidential Funds recipients of the OVP came after “Mary Grace Piattos” and “Kokoy Villamin”, two of the names which appeared in the ARs, were found to have no records with the PSA.
Amid the issues surrounding the Vice President, two (2) impeachment complaints have been filed against her. There are also rumors that Vice Pres. Duterte may be facing her third impeachment complaint.
