PAGASA Says Shear Line and Amihan to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Shear Line and amihan will bring rainy weather over parts of the country.
On Friday (December 6, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The two weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA specialist Benison Estareja reported that the shear line will be affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon while the northeast monsoon will affect extreme Northern Luzon.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, and Isabela. The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes.
“Dahil sa northeast monsoon, asahan pa rin ang makulimlim na panahon at mahinang pag-ulan sa may Batanes. Habang ang shear line, nakakaapekto naman sa Cagayan, Isabela at malaking bahagi ng Cordillera Administrative Region,” Estareja said.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
“Ibig sabihin magiging kalat-kalat pa rin ‘yung mga thunderstorms dun kaya mag-ingat sa posibleng pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa,” Estareja added.
Many areas in Mindanao will have generally fair weather conditions expected for chances of cloudy skies and rain.
“Pagsapit ng hapon hanggang gabi, mas maraming lugar sa Mindanao lalo sa gitnang bahagi ang magkakaroon ng isolated rain showers or thunderstorms na usually hindi nagtatagal,” he explained.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
