VP Sara Duterte Calls on Filipinos To Forgive this Christmas
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President highlighted the essence of Christmas but admitted that she will not forgive.
Vice Pres. Duterte is surrounded by several issues and accusations now and several recent incidents have sparked countless reports. Currently, the Vice President is faced with a subpoena issued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and an impeachment complaint filed by 16 individuals.
Sixteen (16) individuals including members from the different civil society groups filed an impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The complaint was mainly about the budget spending the offices led by the Vice President.
Vice Pres. Duterte also faced a subpoena by the NBI following her remarks against the Marcos. Aside from implicating the Marcos family in the death of the late former Senator Ninoy Aquino, the Vice President also threw remarks that seemingly ignited threats on the lives of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte thanked the professionals who help the OVP staff members affected by the “crisis” in the office. According to her, it paves the way for them to focus on the events of the office including the year-end activities.
Recently, the Office of the Vice President held a gift-giving activity in Lagawe, Ifugao. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, at the event, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte highlighted the essence of Christmas which are “forgiving, giving, and loving”.
The Vice President also stressed the importance of making amends with loved ones instead of spending a lot for Christmas parties. According to her, it is more important for everyone in the household to be happy even with a simple celebration of Christmas.
“‘Aanhin po atin ang masarap na lechon kung yun namang kumakain sa harap natin ay masama ang loob nila sa atin?… Kaya po ang mas importante ay simple ang selebrasyon pero masaya ang lahat ng tao sa loob ng bahay na nagse-celebrate ng pasko,” the Vice President said.
However, at the gift-giving event, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte admitted that she will not forgive. Based on the report, she stressed that she only speaks of the essence of Christmas because she is the vice president but admitted without mentioning names that she cannot forgive.
“Lagi ko pong sinasabi na depende po ‘yan sa tao pero dahil ako as vice president, kailangan kong sabihin sa inyo na ‘yan po ang mensahe at diwa ng Pasko. Pero po ako hindi po talaga ako magpapatawad,” Duterte said.
The ongoing feud between the Marcoses and the Dutertes has surprised countless Filipinos most especially the BBM-Sara supporters. Meanwhile, despite the attacks of the Duterte family against Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Malacañang claimed that the office of Pres. Marcos has nothing to do with the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Duterte.
