Amid the Rumors, AiAi delas Alas Confirms Separation w/ Husband Gerald Sibayan
AIAI DELAS ALAS – The Comedy Queen revealed how Gerald Sibayan broke up with her and his reason for the separation.
Several netizens noticed that AiAi never made mention of her husband, Gerald Sibayan, during her guest appearance on the show My Mother, My Story which is hosted by Boy Abunda. Many netizens also saw sadness in her eyes and it sparked speculations that the couple might have broken up.
A couple of days ago, Boy told the audience that AiAi will be the guest in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda and he will ask her regarding the status of her relationship with Gerald. Prior to the airing of the show, there were rumors that Gerald broke up with AiAi through a text message.
It was in 2017 when Gerald Sibayan and AiAi delas Alas officially tied the knot three (3) years after they first met. They had a lavish wedding ceremony at the Christ the King Parish Church in Quezon City and it was star-studded.
AiAi delas Alas already had three (3) children when she married Gerald Sibayan. She has two (2) grown-up sons, Sancho delas Alas and Sean Nicolo Vera, and a daughter, Sophia delas Alas. It is no secret to the public that the couple has a 29-year age gap.
Undeniably, the huge age gap between AiAi and her husband elicited different reactions from the public. Meanwhile, the criticisms slowly died down as years pass. Their relationship has reached 10 years.
However, recently, AiAi confirmed that she and Gerald have separated. The confirmation was made during her guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on her 60th birthday. According to her, her husband initiated the separation through a chat message.
AiAi delas Alas revealed that Gerald Sibayan told her that he is no longer happy and he wants to have a child. At the show, the Comedy Queen revealed that they tried the in-vitro fertilization or IVF and two (2) of their three (3) eggs failed but they have still one.
During the interview, the actress said that her husband told her that he’s hurt over what happened to the two (2) eggs. According to her, she knew that the time when Gerald would really find himself and would want a different situation may happen but she hoped that it will not.
AiAi said she will not make an action for the revocation of the Green Card of Gerald. According to her, it is her help to her husband and she wishes that he would find the happiness that he is looking for and he will have a healthy baby.
