Netizen’s Post About Healing Inner Child Earns Reactions Online
A viral post about self-healing went viral and elicited various reactions from the netizens “Employed era is healing the inner child?”
Recently, Twitter/X user @kregvd_, a Certified Public Accountant, shared how his “employed era” felt like a time to heal his inner child, expressing that the child within him “must be so happy.” The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
Alongside this, he posted a video of himself buying toys at a well-known toy store and dining at an upscale restaurant. Many netizens commented that they related to his sentiment, seeing employment as a chance to fulfill childhood dreams.
Trauma therapist Shari Botwin has explained that the concept of inner child healing involves reconnecting with and caring for aspects of our younger selves, shaped by childhood memories. These early experiences often influence our choices and behaviors as adults.
For some, this means embracing experiences they missed out on as kids, like buying toys or enjoying a nice meal, now that they have the financial means to do so.
While many supported the post, some criticized it, suggesting that inner child healing is often tied to consumerism. One now-deleted account argued that using money to heal the inner child could simply be commercialism in disguise.
Many online users defending the idea of spending on things that bring personal joy and comfort. Some argued that the freedom to enjoy life’s small luxuries shouldn’t be judged, especially if it brings satisfaction to those who might have grown up with fewer resources.
On November 2, 2024 Kreyg thanked those who showed support, stating that everyone should have the freedom to heal their inner child in their own way. The debate has opened conversations on how people find personal fulfillment and joy in adulthood.
