Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Claim of Sen. Bato dela Rosa vs. Palace
BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President denied being aware about the alleged plot to link former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to Alice Guo.
The authorities continuously investigates the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the Philippines. The probe heightened with the presence of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo who was arrested in Indonesia and sent back to the Philippines.
Amid the accusations linking her to illegal POGO operations in the country and her questionable identity, the Ombudsman ordered to dismiss Guo from office. She was initially rumored to be running for re-election in Bamban in the 2025 Midterm Elections.
Although the Commission on Elections or Comelec said that they cannot refuse the candidacy of Alice Guo if she decides to file a bid in the next elections, the former Bamban Mayor decided not to join the political race next year. She said that she will focus in clearing her name by facing the allegations against her.
Guo is currently detained in Pasig City Jail. She shares a regular cell with six (6) inmates — most of them are charged with drug allegations. She was previously detained in the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Facility until the Pasig Court filed a non-bailable case against her.
The former Bamban Mayor attends Senate and House hearings now on illegal POGOs. There are also new names that were dragged into the issue. One of them is Jennifer Francisco alias Mary Maslog. She claimed that the police authorities asked her to talk to Alice Guo to surrender.
Amid the probe, Senator Bato dela Rosa made a claim that he knows someone from Malacañang allegedly tapped Mary Maslog to link him, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, and Sen. Bong Go to Alice Guo and the POGO crimes.
Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos aired his side on the claim of Sen. Bato dela Rosa that someone from Malacañang allegedly tapped Mary Maslog to link former Pres. Duterte and two senators to Alice Guo. Based on a report on GMA News, he denied having knowledge about it.
”No, I don’t know anything… I don’t know who this person is,” the President said.
In 1998, Maslog was implicated in the P24-million textbook procurement scam as per the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). As of this writing, neither Duterte nor Go has spoken on the claim of Dela Rosa.
Recently, self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa claimed that Bato Dela Rosa coerced him to pin down former Sen. Leila de Lima in the drug trade issue. He claimed that he was threatened to do it and he is ready to face the consequence.
