Cops Arrest Shoplifter for Stealing Bottles of Liniment Oil from Pharmacy in Cebu City
A male shoplifter was arrested for stealing 10 bottles of liniment oil from a pharmacy in Capitol Site, Cebu City.

On Wednesday evening (October 2, 2024), a 19-year-old man named John Lloyd Serad, a resident of Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City was arrested for attempting to take the items without paying.
Serad was caught in the act by the pharmacy’s security guard, who noticed him concealing the liniment oil in his waistband as he attempted to leave the store. The guard quickly intervened and stopped him at the entrance.
After being detained, Serad was handed over to the Abellana Police Station, where he was held in custody. The suspect explained that he had a stomach ache and wanted to use the liniment oil to relieve his discomfort.
However, he didn’t have the money to buy it, which led him to the decision to shoplift. Along with the liniment oil, Serad had also taken two bottles of skin lotion from the pharmacy.
Despite his reasoning, Serad’s actions led to his arrest, and he now faces theft charges. The pharmacy’s security guard acted promptly, preventing the theft from escalating.
John Lloyd’s case serves as a reminder of the importance of seeking proper solutions to problems, even in difficult situations, rather than resorting to illegal actions. Although the stolen items may seem minor, theft is still a crime that carries legal consequences.
