Several LGUs Declare Class Suspensions for Wednesday (October 2, 2024) Due to Typhoon Julian
WALANG PASOK – Various local government units have declared class suspensions due to the effects of Typhoon Julian.
Typhoon Julian continues to move northwest towards Taiwan with maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 205 kilometers per hour. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is still raised over northern Luzon.
Even though the storm remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), it continues to bring strong winds, leading local government units (LGUs) to suspend classes in affected areas.
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, several parts of northern Luzon have canceled classes a precautionary measure due to the effects of Typhoon Julian. The class suspensions have been made to ensure the safety of both students and school personnel.

Region 1 (Ilocos Region):
- Ilocos Norte:
- Batac: All levels, public and private
- Currimao: All levels, public
- Laoag: All levels, public and private
- Ilocos Sur:
- Bantay: All levels, public and private
- Pangasinan:
- Binmaley: Kindergarten to Grade 12, public and private
- Calasiao: Kindergarten to Grade 12, public and private
- Dagupan City: Kindergarten to Senior High School, public and private
- Lingayen: Kindergarten to Grade 12, public and private
Region 2 (Cagayan Valley):
- Batanes:
- Uyugan: Face-to-face classes, all levels
- Cagayan:
- Calayan: All levels, public and private
The typhoon is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday (October 3, 2024). Residents in the affected areas are urged to stay safe and monitor further announcements from authorities.
