Ejay Falcon realized this thing after his election loss
Actor and former Oriental Mindoro vice governor Ejay Falcon reflected on his failed Congress bid in the 2025 midterm elections.
Ejay rose to fame after winning the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother. Eventually, he ventured into politics, and somehow, this was a surprise to many people. However, the actor won and served as the Vice Governor of Oriental Mindoro from 2022 to 2025.
For last year’s elections, he opted to run for Congress, but he did not win. Following the results, Ejay expressed that he accepted defeat.
In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Ejay Falcon admitted that he was emotional when he did not win.
“Hindi naman maiiwasan na iniyak ko siya. Ibinigay mo ‘yung best mo. Nangampanya ka,” the actor-politician admitted. He said that one of the reasons why this happened was not having enough election funding.
However, after his emotional moment, a realization came. “After nung iyak na ‘yun, siguro, may purpose si Lord kung bakit nangyari ‘yun. Hanggang biglang nag-SONA. Nung SONA, pumutok na ‘yung issues katulad ng flood control, malalaking corruptions,” the actor shared.
For him, there was a purpose and a redirection. Ejay also shared that Laurenti Dyogi, an ABS-CBN executive and one of his mentors, helped him with his realizations.
The actor shared that when he watched TV last August, the issues were coming out, and this shed light on him. “In fairness kay ninong, Direk Lauren Dyogi, nahimasmasan ako. Lumuwag ‘yung [pakiramdam] ko. One time, nagkita kami after elections, lumabas na nga ‘yung corruption issues, sabi niya, ‘Mahal ka talaga ng Holy Spirit. Tingnan mo kung nariyan ka?’ Sabi ko, ‘Oo nga po,’” Ejay said.
He explained that his aspiration to be a congressman came from his background. Ejay said that because of his modest upbringing, he could relate to people and bring inspiration to the youth in his province.
