The announcement of the admin’s senatorial slate was held during the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas Convention. The announcement of the senatorial slate was made by no other than Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

During the announcement of the senatorial bets that Pres. Marcos endorses in the upcoming 2025 Midterm Election, only her sister, Sen. Imee Marcos, was not present. The senatorial bets of the administration came from the different political parties in the Philippines.

However, based on a recent report on Inquirer, Sen. Imee Marcos has decided to withdraw from the admin’s senatorial slate. According to the Presidential Sister, her decision is out of the pursuit to protect her younger brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, and avoid hurting some friends.

“Para hindi na malagay sa alanganin ang kapatid ko, kasi kinakabahan na nga siya baka ano raw – eh, ‘yung aking ading e baka malagay pa sa alanganin at ‘yung mga kaibigan [ay] masaktan,” she said.

According to the Senator, she would rather stand alone although it is hard. She stressed that there are a lot of people saying that she is boating in two rivers. Based on the report, Marcos said that she is hoping for all the rivers to meet.

“Tangway, ika nga sa atin. It’s a tremendous sacrifice to stand alone,” she said.

When asked if she plans to resolve the issue between Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, Sen. Imee Marcos said that it is only “secondary” to her desire to stand alone. Previously, Vice Pres. Duterte said that she and Pres. Marcos did not start as friends.
