Teacher in Davao de Oro Reportedly Lost Her Life Due to Stress
MARJORIE BOLDO – A lady teacher in Davao de Oro passed away after experiencing emotional pain, which her family believes was caused by her school principal.
The incident reportedly started in her classroom when one of her students accidentally hit their head on a bench while playing. The child’s parent reported the incident to the school principal identified as Alvin Escobar.
Instead of being given a chance to explain, Teacher Marjorie Espinosa Llanto-Boldo was reportedly scolded and insulted by the principal in front of the parents. This left her feeling humiliated and hurt.
After working as a teacher for 31 years, Marjorie found it hard to accept the public criticism. She shared her feelings with her colleagues, saying the words had deeply affected her and questioned her dedication to her job.
Marjorie had been quietly carrying the emotional burden for some time, according to her family, but they didn’t realize how much it was weighing on her.
Soon after the incident, she started feeling unwell and was taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, she passed away on September 19, 2024, just a few days later.
The Department of Education in Davao de Oro has called the principal for a meeting to talk about what happened. Meanwhile, Marjorie’s family is thinking about taking legal action after they settle all the necessary details.
Her death has left her family, students, and colleagues grieving. It has also raised concerns about how teachers are treated and the impact of stress on their health.
On September 23, 2024 (Monday), DepEd XI spokesperson Jenielito Atillo reported that the Tibagon Elementary School principal was summoned regarding Boldo’s death. The principal was called for a dialogue, which will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
“DepEd Davao de Oro assures the public that it will thoroughly conduct an investigation on the cause of her death. We encourage everyone to pray for the repose of Mrs. Llanto-Boldo. We also pray for the strength of the family during this most trying time of their life,” the statement reads.
