Male Passenger Exposes Bus Conductor Modus Operandi, Netizens Share Their Experiences

A male passenger shared the modus operandi of some bus conductors, and netizens have also shared their experiences.

Recently, Eryck Paolo, a Facebook user, caught the attention of commuters, exposing a scheme some bus conductors are allegedly involved in. The post quickly circulates online and garnered various reactions from the netizens.

In his post, Eryck advised fellow passengers to avoid giving large bills when paying for their fare, especially if they don’t have exact change. During his bus ride, he handed over a P1,000 bill as he didn’t have smaller change.

Paolo patiently waited for his change, but as the hours passed, everyone else on the bus had already received theirs, except for him.

The first time Eryck reminded the conductor, he was told that it would be given later since there were still many passengers. However, as he pointed out, the bus wasn’t even full. The second time he called out, the conductor pretended not to hear him.

This continued until they reached the terminal, where the conductor hurriedly tried to leave, likely assuming Eryck would forget about his change. If Eryck hadn’t raised his voice to demand it, he believed the conductor would have pocketed it.

The passenger also mentioned that this wasn’t his first time falling victim to this trick. During his school days from 2016 to 2020, he had a similar experience when he would often fall asleep on the bus and forget to collect his change upon getting off.

Eryck called on Rural Transit Mindanao, Inc. to address the issue and take action against such dishonest conductors to prevent more passengers from being scammed.

Payo lang sa mga commuters d’yan. Sa tuwing sasakay kayo ng bus, iwasan n’yong magbigay ng buo na pera sa tuwing nagbabayad kayo ng pamasahe. Kase kanina habang bumabyahe ako, wala akong barya kaya isang libo na buo ang binigay ko at inantay kong bigyan ako ng sukli. 4 hours rin yung byahe ko, lahat ng pasahero na kasabayan kong sumakay ay nabigyan na ng sukli, ako lang ang hindi pa.

Unang beses kong tinawag ang konduktor para ipaalala ang sukli ko, sabi n’ya mamaya na lang daw kase marami pang tao, kahit naman hindi. Sa pangalawang beses kong tawag sa kanya, nagpapanggap na di ako narinig, yang mismo na nasa larawan. Hanggang sa dumating na lang ako sa aking destinasyon sa may bandang terminal. Nauna agad bumaba ang kvpal na konduktor kase akala n’ya ‘di ko maaalala ang sukli ko. Kung ‘di ko pa tinawag ng malakas para kunin ang sukli eh siguradong nadikwat na yung sukli ko.

Dalawang beses na akong nabiktima ng ganitong modus dati nong nagaaral pa lang ako wayback 2016-2020 sa tuwing nakakatulog ako sa bus at nakakaligtaan ang sukli ko pagkababa.
