WALANG PASOK – Some local government units have declared class suspensions due to Tropical Storm Helen and habagat.

Tropical Depression Gener continues to move westward, while Tropical Storm Helen) has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Both systems are expected to bring heavy rain in the next few days.

Helen was spotted at 1,150 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon. it has maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 105 kph, and central pressure of 992 hPa. It is moving 25 kph at west northwestward direction.

Class Suspensions

On Wednesday (September 18, 2024), several local government units (LGUs) have announced the suspension of classes due to the effects of Tropical Depression Gener and the intensified southwest monsoon.

Iloilo City – Face-to-face classes (preschool to senior high school, public and private)
