Is Mayor Liseldo “Dong” Calugay of Sual, Pangasinan the boyfriend of dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo?
The arrested former mayor in Indonesia is facing issues regarding her real identity, escape from the country, and alleged links to illegal POGOs. On top of these, she is also facing several complaints regarding money laundering, human trafficking, and among others.
The said issues were tackled in the hearing held on Monday, September 9, but apart from those, senator also interrogated her about her love life. She was made to explain her alleged tied with Mayor Liseldo “Dong” Calugay of Sual, Pangasinan.
Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada repeatedly asked her if the Sual mayor is her boyfriend as there were photos of her holding a flower from him supposedly. However, she denied having any romantic links with the said male mayor. Accordingly, they are just friends.
A business permit indicating Guo’s “sister” Shiela Guo as its owner called Alisel Aqua Farm in Pangasinan was also shown. It is believed that “Alisel” is a portmanteu of “Alice” and “Liseldo” suggesting a theory that there’s something more than friendship that is going on between them.
Calugay was invited twice for a hearing but he avoided both prompting the committee to issue a subpoena against him.
Meanwhile, in a previous article, Alice denied that she is Guo Hua Ping, a Chinese national. This is also despite the matching fingerprints.
As for her escape, a ‘Chinese POGO boss’ facilitated it according to Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada. They learned about this after pressing Guo to reveal it.
