PAGASA Says HPA to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that fair weather conditions will prevail nationwide.
On Thursday (August 1, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The High-Pressure Area will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio reported that the ridge of the High-Pressure Area (HPA) will be extending over Northern Luzon as localized thunderstorms bring cloudy skies with isolated rains over the country.
“Fair weather po tayo sa Luzon kung saan ay makararanas ng bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na kalangitan. May tyansa pa rin po sa hapon o gabi ang mga isolated na pag-ulan dahil sa thunderstorm. Fair weather din po sa Visayas at sa Mindanao,” he said.
Fairweather and possible isolated rain showers are expected nationwide. However, the localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the whole Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro.
Similar weather condition is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
No low-pressure area is currently being monitored inside the Philippine area of responsibility.
Here are the predicted temperature ranges in major cities:
- Metro Manila: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Baguio City: 17 to 22 degrees Celsius
- Laoag City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Tuguegarao: 25 to 34 degrees Celsius
- Legazpi City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Tagaytay: 22 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Iloilo City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Cebu: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Tacloban City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Cagayan de Oro City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Zamboanga City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
- Davao City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
