Isko Moreno was once again asked about his political plans
Actor-turned-politician Isko Moreno appeared to be hinting at his plan to run for Manila Mayor in the next elections.
Isko is one of the showbiz personalities who crossed over to politics. For more than two decades, he served the people of Manila. In 2022, he failed in his bid for the position of president. After that, Isko started to doing showbiz engagements again.
He signed a contract with Sparkle GMA Artist Center. In an interview early this July, Isko was asked about his political plans. He said that it is not in his priorities right now. The actor-turned-politician said that he is focused now on doing his responsibility in his home network and to his family.
However, in a recent event, based on the article in PEP, Isko Moreno appeared to be hinting at his next plan when it comes to his political career.
The former Mayor of Manila was invited to be a special guest at the National Hopia Day held in Pasay. Prior to this event, incumbent Manila Mayor Honey Lacunia, Isko’s running partner in the past expressed hope that he will reconsider his decision, as she will be running for re-election.
When asked about Mayor Lacunia’s statement, Isko said that he loves her because she is his “Ate.” However, he did not response on the rumors that he will run for mayor again.
He said that the election period is still far away and he is just steady on the side. To those who are hoping that he will return to the mayoralty race, Isko said that it has been his intention to do what is right and what is good for the people. He also expressed love for the people of Manila.
During the National Hopia Day event, Isko Moreno had an intriguing statement. “Sabi ko kay Gerie kanina, ‘Gerie, may awa ang Diyos. Someday, you will not celebrate National Hopia Day in Pasay. We will celebrate National Hopia Day in Manila, Binondo.'” Could this be a hint of his return to the political scene?
