Police Authorities Arrest Man for Robbing Coffee Shop in Bulacan
A man was arrested by the police authorities after allegedly robbing a coffee shop in Barangay Kaypian, Bulacan.
Around 8 pm on Thursday night (July 18, 2024), a man landed in jail after allegedly robbing a coffee shop in Barangay Kaypian, San Jose Del Monte (SJDM), Bulacan.
According to Police Master Sergeant Rod Pating, the investigator on the case, the suspect entered the coffee shop pretending to be a customer. Once inside, he pulled out a .38 caliber gun and announced the robbery.
“Nagpanggap na customer ‘yung suspek pumasok sa loob ng coffee shop at nagdeklara siya ng holdap agad agad po. Kinuha niya agad ‘yung cellphone ng mga biktima isinama niya pati ‘yung dalawang customer,” said PMsg Pating.
The suspect managed to take five cell phones and a wallet before attempting to flee. The coffee shop owner quickly called for help, and fortunately, police patrols were nearby.
“Naabutan niya doon yung mga tropa na nagpapatrolya sa lugar na yon. Humingi siya ng tulong sumama ‘yung tropa na hinabol ‘yung suspek hanggang sa sumemplang po ‘yung suspek. Nung sumemplang doon po siya nahuli,” PMsg Pating added.

The stolen items, including the five cellphones and the wallet, were recovered from the suspect. The gun he used, loaded with bullets, was also seized.
Police believe the suspect is also responsible for robbing a vape shop in Bulacan two weeks earlier.
“Yung modus po nitong suspek natin ay nagdadala po siya ng baril at pumapasok sa mga maliliit o tindahan ay nagdedeklara ng holdap pwersahan niya kinukuha karamihan cellphone mabilisan po. Pagkatapos niya pong magholdap po nagbibihis po itong suspek natin nagpapalit po siya ng damit,” PMsg Pating explained.
The suspect admitted to his crimes, citing personal problems as the reason behind his actions.
“Totoo po yon, dala po ng problema po gipit din saka single parent po ako tapos buntis din asawa ko hiwalay kami,” the suspect confessed.
The suspect is now facing charges of robbery and violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
