Online Seller Expresses Frustration After Delivery Rider Steals Her Bales of Merchandise

An online seller was left heartbroken after a delivery rider allegedly stole her bales of merchandise.

The Facebook page “De First Bale” has shared her experience after a delivery rider allegedly stole her bales of merchandise worth P35,000. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.

The lady seller recounted that on the morning of the incident, she booked a delivery with Lalamove at around 8:30 AM to transport bales from her supplier. By 9:15 AM, the pickup was completed.

However, by 11 AM, she began to worry as the delivery had not yet arrived, and the rider’s location had not moved since the pickup. The seller received multiple messages from the rider, identified as Richard Almanzor, requesting the delivery payment via GCash, claiming it was needed for gas.

The entrepreneur checked the delivery status and noticed it falsely indicated that the items had been delivered. The rider then sent a QR code, which turned out to be fake.

The young woman asked for the rider’s GCash number and tried calling him, but he did not answer any of her five calls. She quickly contacted Lalamove Customer Support and filed a complaint. Unfortunately, Lalamove responded that they could not reach the driver either.

The businesswoman went to the nearest police station to file a report. However, the police directed her back to Lalamove for the driver’s details, making her feel helpless and frustrated.

In another post, the seller expressed her disappointment with Lalamove’s handling of the situation. She explained that despite using Lalamove’s services since 2021 without any issues, this incident exposes gaps in their customer support and security measures.

The store owner detailed how the platform failed to track the rider, even while the transaction was ongoing. She criticized Lalamove for its limited liability, which only covers up to P3,000, regardless of the actual value of the stolen goods.
