Class Suspensions for Monday (May 6, 2024) Due to Scorching Temperatures
WALANG PASOK – Several local government units declared class suspensions in some areas due to scorching temperatures.
On Monday (May 6, 2024), some schools have decided to cancel face-to-face classes due to extreme heat. The affected schools were advised to shift to asynchronous classes or alternative learning modalities.
PAGASA reported that fair weather with hot and humid temperatures will prevail across the country.
However, the decision to suspend face-to-face classes is left up to school administrators in places where private schools are not mentioned.
Metro Manila, some provinces, cities, municipalities, and schools have been advised to switch to online classes or other ways of learning that don’t require everyone to be in the same place at the same time.
The announcement was made to ensure the safety of both students and school personnel.

Metro Manila
- Caloocan City – Afternoon classes for kinder to senior high school (Public)
- City of Manila – Elementary and high school (Public)
- Pasay City – All levels (Public and Private)
- Quezon City – Face-to-face classes in public schools are automatically suspended when the heat index reaches 40°C.
Provinces
- Bulacan – Elementary and secondary (Public)
- Cagayan – Elementary to senior high school (Public)
Cities and municipalities
- Angeles City – All levels (Public)
- Iloilo City – All levels (Public and Private)
- Indang, Cavite – Pre-school to senior high school until May 10 (Public)
- Masbate City, Masbate – Kinder to Grade 12 (Public)
- Sta. Rosa, Laguna – Elementary to high school from May 6 to 10, 2024 (Public)
