JoshLia fans are in for a treat as Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto are reunited for a new film. They will be starring in “Un/happy For You,” their first movie project together after four years and this will be directed by filmmaker Petersen Vargas.
Garcia and Barretto’s film was confirmed during a virtual media conference which was shown in Star Cinema and VIVA Films’ YouTube channels on Wednesday, April 24.
About “Un/happy For You”
According to Garcia, he did not hesitate accepting this project. It’s been a long time since they were able to work with each other and much has changed already. As for the actress, she accordingly waited for the right material to come and it did at what she thought was the right time.
There were several attempts before but this one was the right one that came at the right time as they are now both at a good place in their lives. Details on their co-stars and premiere date are yet to be announced, as of press time.
What to expect from the film?
In the look test that was released, it showed the confrontation between two lovers who have had a bad break up. According to the director, they will be giving the viewers a different take on the chemistry of JoshLia, who were not just former love team but also former real-life couple.

“There are some things that still linger so it would be a painful and hopefully a healing movie for a lot of people,” the actress shared. Garcia agreed to this and added that they will surely not have a hard time portraying their characters as they both went through pain in their lives.
