ABS-CBN noontime show “It’s Showtime” is a trending topic in various social media platforms as it finally debuted on GMA’s channel 7 on Saturday, April 6. Last March 20, the ABS-CBN and GMA contract signing occured. This feels surreal but it is real.
The big event has finally happened and before the big performance, lead host Vice Ganda expressed a powerful message. The superstar comedian started the show with a big production number – a double celebration for this historical event on TV and the superstar’s birthday celebration.
Kapuso stars Gabbi Garcia, Sanya Lopez, Glaiza de Castro, Jillian Ward, Mark Bautista, Christian Bautista, Jake Vargas, Mikee Quintos, Nadine Samonte, and Chanty were on the “KaraoKids” segment.
Apart from Vice, the show’s hosts for its 14th year are Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Kim Chiu, Ogie Alcasid, Karylle, Amy Perez, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta, Ryan Bang, Ion Perez, Jackie Gonzaga, MC, Lassy, and Cianne Dominguez.
“Damang-dama po namin, maraming-maraming salamat sa umaapaw na pagmamahal, salamat po,” Vice said who also shared that this day was what kept them moving in the past days. The pressure is tight and the stress is high but it’s happening in a positive manner.
After the big performance, Vice also teased about the new segments they are going to introduce in their show which has now found a new home. This episode earned 400,000 peak concurrent viewers from various ABS-CBN online platforms.
In his statement, Vice also thanked GMA Network and its executives. The comedian said, “Ito na ang pinakamatinding plot twist ng dekada. We found a new home sa piling ng ating mga Kapuso. Kaya naman po sa GMA Network maraming-maraming salamat po sa pagbibigay sa amin ng tsansa na muling maabot ang maraming manonood.”
Showtime is now airing in GMA main channel, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, GTV and A2Z.
