Rabiya Mateo Opens Up About the Stories Surrounding Jeric Gonzales
RABIYA MATEO – Former beauty queen and now host-actress Rabiya Mateo opened up about the stories surrounding her boyfriend Jeric Gonzales.
Rabiya Mateo admitted in a Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that she was once affected by the stories and opinions of others about her boyfriend, actor Jeric Gonzales.
In the said talk show hosted by Boy Abunda, Rabiya willingly participated in the interview along with her co-star in Makiling and fellow Sparkle 10 member, Elle Villanueva.
Aside from their careers, they also discussed their love lives. Rabiya Mateo shared that she had difficulties in the early stages of her relationship with Jeric Gonzales because of what people were saying about the actor.
She said, “First time kong mag-date ng celebrity and minsan kapag celebrity din ‘yung dine-date mo ang daming opinyon, ang daming sinasabi about him and at first, I was shaken about it.
Despite the many rumors surrounding them, Rabiya chose to believe her boyfriend.
“Kasi nakita ko kung gaano siya kaseryoso sa akin Tito Boy at pinaramdam niya ‘yun sa’kin.” she added.
She also mentioned, “I’m sure marami rin sinasabi ang mga tao about me kay Jeric.”
Rabiya Mateo learned to be more appreciative of the efforts Jeric made to strengthen their relationship.
“Ako, aside from communication, siguro Tito Boy, kailangan mo rin… ako bilang babae I need to be appreciative ng efforts, kasi minsan ‘yung mga lalaki marami na silang ginagawang effort, hindi lang natin napapakita na na-a-appreciate natin sila,” said Rabiya.
Rabiya confirmed her relationship with Jeric in March 2022. A few months later, it was reported that Rabiya and Jeric had broken up after she deleted their pictures on Instagram.
However, Rabiya clarified in an interview in June 2023 that their breakup only lasted a week and was quickly resolved.
As of now, the Kapuso couple’s relationship is going strong. Rabiya celebrated her birthday with Jeric in Hong Kong and Macau in November 2023.
