The Philippines struggles with traffic problem that affects millions of commuters and motorists across the archipelago. From the congested streets of Metro Manila to the provincial cities, traffic congestion has become a symbol of urban life.
Many roads and highways in the Philippines were designed to accommodate much smaller volumes of traffic than they currently experience. Insufficient investment in road expansion and maintenance has led to congestion hotspots, particularly during peak hours.

Hours spent stuck in traffic result in lost productivity for workers and students, leading to tardiness, stress, and reduced efficiency.
Recently, a Facebook user Joshua Dela Cruz LilWang, shared a video showcasing a man stuck in traffic despite being on foot. The video quickly went viral and garnered various reactions from the online community.
In the video, several motorists came to a stop due to the intense traffic congestion. The road was so packed that hardly any space was left for movement. Amidst the heavy traffic, Joshua noticed a man who found himself caught in the traffic.
What set the man apart was that he was simply walking amidst the traffic while others were stuck in their vehicles and motorcycles, unable to move due to the heavy flow of traffic.
“Pati si tropa na traffic na rin, wala ng galawan to, walang hiya e, naglalakad na nga lang na traffic pa si kuya oh,” Joshua said.
The video serves as a reminder of the challenges people face in navigating through congested roads and the creative ways they find to cope with it.
