Recently, Bulacan Police Provincial Office conducted an operation that led to the arrest of three individuals who were apprehended for allegedly engaging in the illegal production and sale of fireworks.
According to initial reports, the police received information about the illegal manufacture of firecrackers by the suspects in the area. The authorities discovered that the suspects lacked the necessary permits to produce fireworks.
The first arrest took place in Barangay San Juan, San Ildefonso, where two male suspects aged 44 and 32 were taken into custody during the police operation. Meanwhile, in Barangay Pulong Buhangin, Santa Maria, a 26-year-old female accomplice was arrested.
The authorities confiscated a sack of five-star fireworks, 1400 pieces of Pla-Pla, 100 pieces of Bawang, 20 pieces of one thousand (1,000) rounds of Judas belt (sawa), and 10 pieces of firecracker fuse from the suspects.
The suspects will be facing charges for violating RA 7183, an act regulating the sale, manufacture, and use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices. The law aims to ensure the safe and controlled use of fireworks to prevent accidents and protect the public during the holiday season.
