Shooting Incident at Anahaw Cafe in Daet Injured Coffee Shop Employee’s Life
CAMARINES NORTE – A cafe employee suffered injuries after he was shot by a suspect who pretends as a customer.
On Friday (December 1, 2023), a shooting incident at Anahaw Cafe in Barangay VIII, Daet, Camarines Norte, caused injuries to a cafe employee. The video circulated online prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
The CCTV footage reveals a man, disguised as a customer with a hat on, entering the cafe. Moments later, while the victim, identified as 22-year-old Miguel Angelo Parena from Barangay Mancruz, Daet, was unaware, the suspect quickly drew a gun and opened fire before making a hasty exit.
Parena is currently undergoing treatment and recovery at a hospital in Camarines Norte, following the attack that left the community in disbelief. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, and law enforcement is actively pursuing the suspect through hot pursuit operations.
Daet Municipal Police Station personnel responded to the shooting incident. Patrol personnel and intelligence operatives are still conducting hot pursuit operations to identify and locate the suspect.
As the investigation continues, the police appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses information about the suspect to come forward and report to the nearest police station. Community involvement is important in solving this case and bringing the gunman to justice.
