Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Negros Oriental, November 29, 2023

EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.4 magnitude quake in Negros Oriental today, Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

Following the 4.7 magnitude earthquake that hit Sarangani a few days ago, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in the area. According to the agency, the quake that hit Negros Oriental today had a magnitude of 4.4.

The earthquake today that struck Negros Oriental, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, was tectonic in origin.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Negros Oriental was located at 09.03°North, 122.65°East – 041 km South 35° West of Santa Catalina. It had a depth of focus of 033 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. Instrumental Intensity I was recorded in Sibulan, Negros Oriental.
