Julia Barretto Reveals What She Did Before Becoming Calendar Girl

Julia Barretto is now a calendar girl

Actress Julia Barretto revealed what she did before accepting the offer to be the calendar girl of a liquor company.

Before every year ends, liquor companies in the Philippines have a tradition of revealing the female celebrities who are featured as the calendar girls in the following year. In some instances, a man and a member of the LGBTQ community were featured as calendar models such as social media influencers Ninong Ry and Sassa Gurl.

It has become a prestige for many female celebrities to be chosen as the calendar girl of different liquor companies in the country.

Just recently, Julia Barretto was included in the long list of calendars girls of Tanduay for the year 2024. In an interview, after she was launched as a calendar girl, the actress shared that she talked to her support system first before accepting this project.

When I got the news, it felt like a challenge and an exciting opportunity that I knew I wanted to do. It’s more of sitting down with my family, also my loved ones and friends, telling them about the news,” Julia said.

When she felt that everybody was excited for her and very supportive, this was the time when she felt confident to say yes to the offer. She added that she needed her support system in a sultry stint like this.

Previously, before Julia accepted the role in the movie Expensive Candy, in which she had a sultry role, she also talked about this with her mother Marjorie Barretto.

I’m grateful for my support system—my family, my partner, my friends—malaking bagay iyon,” the actress said. She also said that people would not think that she will become a calendar girl someday. It is because when she was young, she was not aware of this.

Dati kasi sa homeroom namin, calendar lang, walang katabing babae. But kidding aside, I am so honored,” Julia Barretto quipped. Although there was nervousness, the actress said that she was flattered to be chosen to represent the liquor brand.
