BJMP Cebu successfully rescued a minor who was supposed to deliver a lechon stuffed with illegal drugs to an inmate.

Recently, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology stumbled upon an unexpected find while preparing a delivery of lechon. During the slicing process, Jail Officer 1 Iris Basiliote discovered a plastic object hidden inside the lechon, which turned out to contain sachets of suspected illegal drugs.

As the cop meticulously sliced through the tender layers of lechon, her attention was drawn to a mysterious plastic object within the lechon. To her surprise, upon closer inspection, she discovered that the plastic sachets contained illegal drugs.

The discovery not only alarmed the authorities but also raised questions about the intention of visitors visiting inmates.

Following the discovery, immediate action was taken to ensure the safety of those involved. The minor who was responsible for delivering the lechon to a Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) was rescued by BJMP.

The minor suspect will now be handed over to the Women and Children’s Protection Desk at Guadalupe Police Station 9 for further investigation.
