An active and updated account is one of the qualifications in filing for the GSIS Benefits 2023 claims. There are several benefits that members of the state-run social insurance institution may qualify for.

GSIS Unemployment Benefit 2023

The Government Service Insurance System has the GSIS Unemployment Benefit 2023 for members who got involuntary separated from work due to the abolition of their office or position. Here are the qualifications:

  • the GSIS member was a permanent employee at the time of separation;
  • the separation was involuntary due to the abolition of member-employee’s office or position resulting from reorganization; and,
  • the member has been paying the contributions for at least one (1) year prior to separation
GSIS Disability Benefit 2023

The state-run social insurance agency also has the GSIS Disability Benefit 2023 that members may turn to when unforeseen incidents leading to disability happen. To qualify, the member must be:

  • in the service at the time of disability;
  • has paid at least 180 months contributions prior to the disability
  • if the member is separated from service, he/she must have posted at least 36 monthly contributions within the five year period preceding the filing of the claim.
GSIS Funeral Benefit 2023

When a GSIS member passes away, his/her family may file for a claim for GSIS Funeral Benefit 2023. To qualify, the member must meet the following qualifications:

  • an active member of GSIS;
  • a member who has been separated from the service but who is entitled to future separation or retirement benefit;
  • an old age pensioner;
  • a retiree who at the time of his retirement was of pensionable age under RA 8291 but who opted to retire under RA 1616; and
  • a member who retired under RA 1616 prior to the effectivity of RA 8291 with at least 20 years of service, regardless of age
GSIS Survivorship Benefit 2023

When a GSIS member dies, his/her family may qualify to the GSIS Survivorship Benefit 2023. The beneficiary or claimant must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • the claimant must be a primary or secondary beneficiary of a deceased GSIS member residing in the Philippines.
  • the secondary beneficiaries may only be granted the benefit offer in the absence of the primary beneficiaries
GSIS Separation Benefit 2023

When a member of the Government Service Insurance System involuntary got separated from work, he/she may turn to the GSIS Separation Benefit 2023. Here are the qualifications in making a claim:

  • been in the service for at least three years but less than 15 years, and below 60 years of age
  • in the service for at least 15 years and is below 60 years of age
GSIS Retirement Benefit 2023

Among the many GSIS benefits 2023 for members, the benefit that most member look forward to is the GSIS Retirement Benefit 2023. The members may choose from any of the following retirement programs:

  • RA 8291 (GSIS Act of 1997)
  • Presidential Decree (PD) 1146
