PAGASA Says Easterlies and Shear Line to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies and shear line over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (May 15, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that shear line will affect the eastern section of Northern Luzon while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country.

The shear line will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Most parts of the country will have generally humid weather, with some chances of isolated thunderstorms from afternoon to evening.

“Ang easterlies ang magdadala pa rin ng medyo mainit na tanghali pa rin sa ating bansa habang mas malaking tsansa ng mga pulo-pulo o isolated na pagkidlat at pagkulog bandang hapon hanggang sa gabi, kadalasan tumatagal ito ng isa hanggang dalawang oras,” Bardrina said.

  • Tuguegarao – 25 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio – 17 to 25 degrees Celsius
  • Metro Manila – 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay – 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi – 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands – 27 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa – 27 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo – 28 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu – 27 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban – 27 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Davao – 26 to 35 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan de Oro – 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga – 25 to 35 degrees Celsius

No low-pressure areas are being monitored inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility by the weekend.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern and western section of Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

PAGASA did not raise a gale warning in any seaboards of the country.
