Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Occidental Mindoro, November 7, 2023
EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.6 magnitude quake in Occidental Mindoro today, Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
Following the 4.5 magnitude earthquake in Surigao del Norte a few days ago, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. According to the agency, the quake hit Occidental Mindoro today. It had a magnitude of 4.6.
The earthquake today that struck Occidental Mindoro, Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 04:50 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Abra de Ilog.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Occidental Mindoro was located at 13.48°North, 120.70°East – 005 km North 29° West of Abra De Ilog. It had a depth of focus of 127 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was recorded at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. Instrumental Intensity I was recorded in Mamburao and Abra de Ilog in Occidental Mindoro.
