Luggage Owner Retrieves Missing Suitcase Containing Jewelry and Bags
A missing luggage containing precious jewelry and bags valued at around P50 million has been returned to its rightful owner.
Maricor Flores, the luggage owner, accidentally left her suitcase at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. She took to social media to share her initial despair and frustration after losing hope of ever recovering her belongings.
CCTV footage from October 1 at around 8 p.m. showed Maricor Flores arriving at the NAIA Terminal 3 arrival area with her suitcase in tow. She placed the luggage on the ground, assuming that her assistant would pick it up when the vehicle arrived.
However, Maricor’s luggage was left behind and was taken by a man who placed it on a trolley and left. She posted about the incident and received assistance from Senator Raffy Tulfo in recovering her lost luggage.
The wife of a taxi driver who had taken the missing luggage brought the suitcase to TV5 Media Center in Mandaluyong City. The taxi driver’s conscience weighed heavily on him after the suitcase was taken, prompting him to decide to return it.
The latter decided to return it after witnessing the seriousness of the situation on Sen. Raffy Tulfo’s broadcast. Senator Tulfo was convinced that the suitcase had not been tampered with since there were no signs of forced entry, and the two security locks remained intact.
Flores was understandably emotional when she was reunited with her belongings. They have checked the items and none of them were missing.
The luggage owner expressed her gratitude to the taxi driver’s wife for returning the item and even rewarded her with P1 million.
