Catherine Camilon: Cop Tagged As POI in Beauty Queen’s Disappearance

Authorities now have the POI in the disappearance of Catherine Camilon

A cop is tagged as the person of interest in the disappearance of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate Catherine Camilon.

Two weeks after it was reported that Catherine was missing, authorities were able to identify the person of interest. To recall, the beauty queen, who is also a high school teacher in Batangas, was last spotted at a mall in the said province on October 12.

That was the last day when her family was able to contact her. Reportedly, she told her mother that she was going to Balisong Channel, an online media company.

Catherine Camilon was a former talent of the said company. However, Balisong Channel released a statement clarifying that the beauty queen did not go to their office that day and she last visited the company in 2021.

In a recent update, based on the article in PEP, Police Regional Office (PRO) 4A stated that the person of interest in Catherine’s disappearance is a cop. Reportedly, a close friend of the beauty queen approached Chin-Chin Camilon and revealed that Catherine has a boyfriend who is a cop.

It was also said by the source that on the day Catherine disappeared that was the day she was supposed to meet her boyfriend. Reportedly, it was also the policeman who gave the beauty queen the Nissan Juke, the vehicle she drove leaving from their house.

Currently, the said cop is in the custody of the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit and he has already been relieved from his position. “The removal of the police officer from his position is essential to ensure that the investigation remains free from potential influence and guarantees a fair and thorough examination of the case,” Acting Regional Director Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas said.

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 4A is handling the investigation while the Regional Committee on Missing and Found Persons will conduct a separate administrative investigation.

As of writing, the reward money for anyone who can give information about Catherine Camilon’s disappearance has reached P250,000.
